This is a restored pair of ORIGINAL 1959 Chevrolet Apache 31 fender emblem spears. These are genuine vintage Chevrolet pieces, not modern reproductions or copies.

THE c10trims RESTORATION PROCESS

Finding good original 1959 Apache fender spears is becoming increasingly difficult. Many surviving originals have spent decades exposed to weather, moisture, road conditions, accidents, and repeated repairs. It is common to find pieces that are heavily rusted, pitted, cracked, broken, bent, or simply too deteriorated to justify restoration.

At c10trims, we search for original Chevrolet pieces and select the best candidates we can find. We do not restore every piece that turns up. Pieces that are too damaged or deteriorated are rejected.

The selected original pieces are then professionally restored. The old finish is removed, the metal is prepared, the pieces are rechromed, polished, and the emblem details are repainted to return the appearance as closely as practical to the original Chevrolet design.

The goal is simple: preserve an original Chevrolet part instead of replacing it with a reproduction.

ORIGINAL 1959 CHEVROLET DESIGN

For 1959, Chevrolet used a distinctive larger fender spear design featuring CHEVROLET and APACHE lettering with the series designation at the rear. The “31” designation identifies the half-ton truck series associated with the Chevrolet 3100.

These long fender emblems are one of the most recognizable exterior details on a properly restored 1959 Apache.

WHY ORIGINAL MATTERS

Reproduction pieces can recreate the general appearance of vintage trim, but they are still reproductions. These pieces began life on original Chevrolet trucks more than six decades ago.

We believe good original pieces are worth saving.

As the supply of usable original cores continues to shrink, locating complete pieces that are good enough to restore becomes increasingly difficult. That is why each restored set begins with finding the right original pieces before the restoration work can even start.
